Last Sunday’s festival was a wicked blast—thank you to everyone who showed up in costume, cheered for the nastiest kills, and ate your body weight in free popcorn. The Fake Flesh Film Fest is officially back in the lab, stitching together next year’s monster.
Save the date: the next festival is planned for Sunday, October 25, 2026 in Kamloops, BC. It will remain a 19+ event with free popcorn and beer for sale, plus our beloved costume contest—but we’re also changing a few things to level up the chaos (and the fun).
What we’re changing (in a good way)
More Local Spotlights: Dedicated blocks for Thompson-Nicola and BC filmmakers, with a “Hometown Horror” audience award.
Audience Power-Ups: Real-time voting (QR code in-seat) so you can crown favorites on the spot—no spoilers, just vibes.
Scream Lab Mini-Sessions: Short, practical talks before the fest—lighting on a shoestring, DIY gore FX, festival-ready sound, and “How to Submit Like a Pro.”
Merch That Actually Slaps: Limited runs featuring the Fake Flesher (grey sideburns, red-in-black eyes) and a few new poster series—first-come, first-served at the venue and online.
Cleaner Checkout, Faster Lines: We’re upgrading payments so you can tap your card/phone for tickets and merch—no more bottlenecks at the door.
Better After-Party: A proper post-screening mixer so filmmakers and fans can meet, trade stories, and plot their next nightmare.
How to get involved
Filmmakers: Submissions will reopen on FilmFreeway in early 2026. We’ll announce exact dates via our email list and socials—polish your cut, lock your audio, and get those posters ready.
Sponsors & Partners: Want your brand on the big screen (and all over our popcorn tubs)? We have new packages for local businesses, breweries, and horror-friendly brands.
Volunteers: Gate goblins, merch mavens, and vote wranglers—your time makes the night run. Want in? Reach out and we’ll slot you where you’ll shine.
Vendors/Artists: We’re exploring a small “Creep Market” at the venue. If you create horror art, pins, zines, or oddities, let’s talk.
What stays the same
B-grade charm, zero snobbery.
The Fake Flesher as our eternal patron ghoul.
A tight, punchy lineup of shorts that move fast and hit hard.
Community first: we’re here to celebrate the weird, the DIY, and the wildly inventive.
Tell us what to mutate
This festival is yours as much as ours. What should we add, cut, or twist? A new award? A midnight mini-block? A live SFX demo? Drop your ideas in the comments or hit us on socials—your feedback shapes the next cut.
See you in the dark,—Fake Flesh Film Fest
